Elizabeth Chan
M.A. Clinical Mental Health Counseling
LPC-MHSP, NCC
Elizabeth Chan was raised in the diverse melting pot of New York City as a first-generation Chinese American, born to parents who emigrated from Hong Kong to the United States. After graduating from college, Elizabeth moved to Nashville, where she had the wonderful privilege of traveling the world as a drummer and tour manager for several years. These experiences in the entertainment industry afforded her the unique opportunity to hear thousands of people’s stories—from stories of depression, suicide, grief, and addiction to stories of hope and healing amidst it all. Through these stories, as well as her own, Elizabeth came to realize the powerful gift of mental health therapy and the difference that occurs when one comes to understand their intrinsic worth and their capacity to be seen, heard, known, and loved.
After several years as a touring musician, Elizabeth returned to graduate school to complete her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Elizabeth is passionate about working with all genders ages 16 and older, with a particular interest in complex trauma, anxiety, depression, religious trauma, and culturally sensitive therapy.
As a counselor, Elizabeth desires to provide a safe environment that fosters growth, curiosity, exploration, and healing. Utilizing an integrative approach to therapy, Elizabeth helps clients gain greater awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and bodies through modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, internal family systems, and mindfulness training.
In her spare time, Elizabeth enjoys playing music, reading, exploring nature, discovering new foods, and spending time with her family and friends.
